Our Story
A conversation between Nym’s CEO Amihai Neiderman and his wife about how she and other physicians at her hospital use EMR systems introduced him to the process problem of medical coding. Intrigued, Amihai, a computer engineer trained to automate whatever can be automated, and Nym’s former CTO and Co-founder Adam Rimon, who has a doctorate in computational linguistics, set out to develop technology that could reduce unnecessarily manual coding work in the healthcare sector, starting with complex administrative processes such as revenue cycle management.
Their approach was to first understand clinical language and medical billing workflows, and then build Nym’s technology around this understanding. By leveraging the strength of an interdisciplinary team of technologists, physicians, mathematicians, computational linguists, engineers, medical coders and more, Nym has completely transformed how medical coding technology is designed and developed so that it truly works for healthcare.
At Nym, the future is bright. We’re a mission-driven company that’s focused on helping to simplify healthcare by automating the accurate interpretation of clinical language. Today, our engine is powering automation in revenue cycle management and bringing accuracy and speed to medical billing, processing over five million charts annually in more than 150 emergency department and urgent care settings across the US.
