AI-assisted coding

In healthcare, AI-assisted coding refers to technology that uses AI to perform or assist with coding, but does not guarantee full autonomy. Such systems may still require human coders to review, approve, or oversee a percentage of encounters. Unlike AI-assisted coding solutions that require human intervention, autonomous medical coding solutions like Nym’s engine operate with zero human involvement, independently assigning codes and routing successfully coded encounters directly to billing.
